Tamang Heritage Trek is an excellent trek in Langtang region and offers in-depth knowledge about the lifestyle of local people and their unique culture. Spring season ( March-May)
The season of spring is the most favourable for the Tamang heritage sites. So the Tamang Heritage Trial Langtang is busier from March to May. The forest walks are covered with flower buds that are about to bloom, and the trees get their lost greenery back. It is an experience that leaves nature lovers speechless. Day 04: Trek begins: Syabrubensi – Gatlang (2,200m/7,217ft) – 5 hours trek
Day 05: Gatlang – Tatopani (2,607m/8,550ft) – 6 – 7 hours trek
Day 06: Tatopani – Thuman (2,400m/7,874ft) via Brimdang and Nagthali – 6 hours trek
Day 07: Thuman – Briddim (2,345m/7,693ft) – 6 hours trek
Day 08: Briddim – Lama Hotel (2,470m) – 6 hours trek
Day 09: Lama Hotel – Langtang village (3,430m/11,253ft) – 6 – 7 hours trek

Upon arrival at Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by the airport representative of Nepal Horizon Treks & Expedition who will escort you to the hotel. We then check-in at the hotel, freshen up and take our time to rest.
After breakfast, we start guided tour to the several historical and religious sites in Kathmandu. We mostly visit UNESCO world heritage sites that includes – Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu Temple of Pashupatinath, the famous “Monkey Temple” (Swayambhunath) and Buddhist shrine (Boudhanath), the largest stupa in the world.
After exploration, drive to the hotel and make pre-discussion of the next day’s trek. Your team leader will provide you an opportunity regarding the upcoming adventure.
Today we leave Kathmandu behind and drive through the riverside forest, cultivated farmlands and countryside village to Syabrubesi. It is the starting point of the trek. We will drive on a winding road through frequent switchback. You get the opportunity to witness the Manaslu, Annapurna and Ganesh Himal. We end our day with descend into the small village of Syabrubensi.
We start our trek today. From Syabrubensi, we hike towards Goljung village with outstanding view of Ganesh Himal, Shisapangma, Langtang Lirung and others. After walking for couple of hours, we reach Gatlang village dotted with traditional stone houses.
After breakfast, we start our trek with a downhill walk to Thangbuche admiring mind-bowing view of Ganesh Himal and Lagtang Ranges on the way. Next, we pass Chilime Hydropower dam and climb up to the village of Tatopani. Tatopani literally means “hot spring” in Nepali dialect. Hot spring vanished after the earthquake hit Nepal in 2015.
Today we trek from Tatopani to Thuman via Brimdang and Nagthali. We walk along the alpine forested route to reach Brimdang, a small Tamang settlement. It takes few hours to reach Nagthali from Brimdang. On the way, we can enjoy the mesmerizing view of Langtang, Sanjen , Kerung and Ganesh Himal. Next, we drop down to the village of Thauman for overnight stay.
Walking along the forested trail, we pass Lingling to reach Briddim. It is Tibetan Buddhist village located at the lap of Ganesh Himal. We explore the Dukchu Gompa Monastery and visit houses built by stones which are mostly inhabited by Tibetan Buddhist.
After breakfast, we head for Lama Hotel. Firstly, the trail climb downs to the Ghopche Khola (small stream) and then start climbing to Lama Hotel via Rimche. Lama Hotel is located at the bank of the Langtang Khola and surrounded by the lush vegetation and great mountain vistas.
After breakfast, we trek towards Langtang village. Continuing through the dense forest, we climb up through valley and lead the main tree line behind. En route – we enjoy the fantastic view of Langtang Lirung. We come across water mills, prayer wheels and chorten to reaching the beautiful village of Langtang.
After breakfast, we continue trekking through the yak pasture and walk across the largest mani wall in Nepal. Crossing several wooden bridges and negotiating several uphill and downhill sections, we reach the village of Kyanjin Gompa. It is beautiful village surrounded by amazing mountain vistas. Here we can take part in exploration walk to Kanjin Gompa and enjoy the astounding views of glaciers, icefalls, high wildlife and yaks.
After breakfast, we retrace our step back to Lama Hotel via same route we used previously. Today’s trek involves mostly downhill trek and pass beautiful forest and fascinating Tamang villages.
We trek back to Syabrubensi via same route which involves 4 – 5 hours of downhill walk.
Seven hours of drive through the serpentine route with great views of rolling hills, emerald farmland and waterfalls, rivers and countryside life takes us to Kathmandu. We will drive back to hotel and take some time to rest and refresh. In the evening, we will attend farewell dinner hosted by Nepal Horizon Treks & Expedition to celebrate the successful completion of the trek.
